1st gen iPhone cable for xgps

Finally bought an iPhone as my christmas gift.
The most important function I want out of it is the gps location.
I already have a Holux m100b so I just need a cable for it.

The iPod/iPhone sync cable is really cheap, I got 2 for HKD $15.
And I also dug out one of the many usb-b cables i have...

First thing to do is to open the case, pull out all the pins as they're not in the right place.
I tried my best and just pulled out three only, one is broken inside... :-)
Push 2 pins back into pin 1 and pin 13. (when looking into the connector, pins at bottom, count from left to right)

Next is to cut open the usb connector side.
I used the left and right wire (blue and green)

Solder then to the pins on connector, remember the colors...

I just covered one with with tape... :P

Then solder pin 1 to pin 5 and pin 13 to pin 3 of the usb-b (again, pins at bottom, count from left to right)
Finally, remember to isolate the wires so that they don't short together.

To test the cable, I got xgps from http://xgps.xwaves.net/
(add cydia source http://cydia.xwaves.net )

:-)
